Pt. 2: Evaluation of the Water Damage
A Back To Normal Restoration Technician will inspect the water or flood damage on-site. Then they will put together an action plan.
A typical action plan may look like this:
- Determine if interior space needs to be sealed from outdoors; handle accordingly.
- Assess the type of water and contamination level.
- Discover the magnitude of the loss, inspect and examine the property.
- Begin moving and rearranging the contents of the property (to ensure proper access to drying is available).
Pt. 3: Excess Water Removal
At this stage we will eliminate the bulk of the water from your home or property. We use powerful pumps and vacuum systems to rapidly drain gallons of water from your house and move into the dying phase.
Pt. 4: Drying Out Flood Damage or Water Damage
Your floors and walls may initially appear dry after the water removal phase, but they will still be damp to the touch. Many construction materials are porous and can absorb considerable water. The retained water can cause warping, swelling, or breaking down of these materials. Retained water can also cause mold to grow in as little as 48 hours after the water damage has set in.
Our drying process uses high-powered fans and industrial-sized dehumidifiers throughout the water-damaged area to increase circulation of the air and dry out the unit as quickly as possible. We inspect all areas for lingering moisture, to be sure we are not missing any further potential water damage. Some damage may linger, only to become apparent later.
Pt. 5: Getting Your Home or Business “Back To Normal”
Once the drying process has met our standards (through consistent monitoring of moisture levels) the process of putting things back together can start.
We will disinfect and deodorize the damaged areas, and replace or restore damaged materials. We can also prevent future damage to your property by properly sealing, repairing, or replacing protective water barriers damaged by flooding.
Our restoration professionals are capable of:
